MEDIATOR is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project that aims to modernize legal education in Albania and Kosovo by integrating high-quality mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) training into existing university curricula. The project responds to a growing regional need for qualified mediators and conflict resolution professionals, while addressing court backlogs, limited access to justice, and the mismatch between higher education outcomes and labour market demands.
OBJECTIVES
MEDIATOR will deliver concrete reforms in teaching, practice, and employability by:
Developing and integrating mediation modules into existing Bachelor and Master curricula in partner universities.
Training academic staff to deliver mediation education using modern methodologies and practice-based learning.
Establishing Mediation Centers at partner universities, creating long-term hubs for student practice and community services.
Strengthening partnerships between universities, Mediation Chambers, and legal institutions through MoUs, internships, and joint activities.
Promoting mediation as a profession through awareness campaigns and stakeholder engagement to support long-term uptake.
